It was also the largest industrial site in Alaska. From 1911 to 1938, over $200-million of copper was transported via railroad to steamships in Cordova. Over 600 people were employed by the Kennecott Copper Corporation - 300 at the mill site and another 300 at surrounding mines. Picture Availability
