Greeting Card Caption: With a wingspan of about eight feet and weighing 20-30 pounds, the trumpeter swan is the world's largest member of the waterfowl family. Trumpeters typically pair for life at the age of 2 and begin breeding at 3-4 years of age. Adult males and females are called cobs and pens, respectively. A young swan, which is gray in color, is considered a cygnet.
