Print Title: Battery Point Lighthouse

Greeting Card Caption: Battery Point Lighthouse was the eighth to become operational on the U.S. Pacific coast when the original fourth-order Fresnel lens was lit on December 10, 1856. Constructed on an exposed islet outside of Crescent City California's boat harbor, the lighthouse has been battered by storm waves that have broken glass in the lantern room. However, it escaped damage when Crescent City was devastated by tsunami waves generated during the Alaska Good Friday Earthquake in 1964.
