Greeting Card Caption: Caribou are the only member of the deer family in which both sexes grow antlers. Antlers of adult bulls are large and massive while those of cows are much shorter, more slender and irregular. The antlers on the bull in this photograph are exceptionally large. Average adult males typically weigh 350 to 400 pounds but may reach 700 pounds. Mature females average 175 to 225 pounds.
